Germs. Now that Pumpkin is in preschool, a certain amount of germs are to be expected. They are exposed to everything and it’s the one thing they are guaranteed to share without any crying. Round and round the germs go until our defenses break down and then it’s our turn.
As some of you may know, we have been trying for Baby #2. It’s been a year since the ectopic pregnancy and we have not been successful yet. While there may be other issues with my Rheumatoid Arthritis or our general health, we aren’t even getting a fair chance because of those pesky germs.
It’s like our bodies know…uh oh it’s ovulation time. Time for one or both of you to feel so sick you can barely look at each other much less have sex. When we had the stomach flu a few months ago I started throwing up two days into the window, with hubby feeling nauseous and sick for the remainder of those critical days. We actually did look at each other one day and said, “We should try right?” followed by running to the bathroom to throw up. Yeah talk about setting the mood.
But you only need one try right? WRONG. Or maybe some people are super, freaking lucky that way but right now we aren’t. Since December it’s been clockwork…oh you wanted to try and have sex? Well here’s some horrible cold that will keep you in bed, make you hack up and be completely unattractive to your significant other. Good luck with that whole baby making thing! My mom says we have some sort of natural birth control thing going on.
I’m not even sure what to do at this point. I’ve lysol’d the house again and again. There is hand soap everywhere to remind us to wash our hands and the door knobs have been cleaned a million times. Alcohol is an option. I’ve heard that kills all germs. The final step will be to wear those masks over our faces the week of ovulation but even then I know those suckers will get us.
Any recommendations? What do you do to keep from catching a cold this season (yes we all got a flu shot) ?
