I am so excited because this weekend is MommyCon OC! I have attended two previous MommyCon events and they have definitely grown and improved over time. This year I am expecting again and I’m really looking forward to the talks on “Cloth 101” and learning how to use a Ring Sling which I’ll be using for the first time with this baby. I also want to learn more about any Kangaroo hold type products.
What is MommyCon:
*from their site*
MommyCon is a nationwide convention series dedicated to creating and nurturing a community of parents and parents-to-be in celebration of natural parenting.
MommyCon takes a gentle and positive approach to educating parents about the emotional and physical benefits of natural birthing, breastfeeding and babywearing. We advocate values of holistic health, eco-friendly diapering, child safety standards and procedures, and female self-care and wellness. Our mission is to create a community of support, acceptance and non-judgement for parents journeying through parenthood.
I enjoy MommyCon because I learn about products that I don’t have access to easily. I also love how non-judgemental MommyCon is. Last year I went to a talk about Potty Training and while it still took us a year, it was full of laughs and good information. That’s what I love about the sessions because the speakers make everyone comfortable no matter what the topic (yes there are topics about vaginas and menstrual health).
Tickets are still available for MommyCon OC. There is a General Admission ticket and then an admission ticket for Expectant Parents! This provides a special luncheon to go over special products for couples (or persons) that are expecting and comes with a special gift bag. Hope to see you there!
*Disclosure – I was given a media ticket for the event. This will be my third MommyCon event and it gets better every year!*
